John's atmospheric paintings seek the mood of the painting rather than the subject itself. Felsing's approach to his art contrasts with his earlier wildlife paintings, which were detailed and attentive to defined boundaries. Earlier paintings hang in the National Museum of Wildlife Art.
Felsing has two New York City shows scheduled for 2008. "American Masters at the Salamundi Club", which opens May 2 at the Salamundi Club, 47 5th Avenue. The Gerald Peters Gallery, E. 78th Street, which opens September 3.
